SUMMARY:Feminine Wisdom of the Elder Years with Meg Wheatley in Menopause Chronicles
DESCRIPTION:Join Dr. Welch and Menopause Chronicles participants as we welcome our guest instructor Margaret (Meg) Wheatley on Wednesday\, October 7\, 2026 at 6pm Eastern (New York) Time. \nIn this session\, Meg will share her reflections on stepping into our role as women elders. This can be a precious stage grounded in the wisdom we’ve accrued through our life struggles\, successes\, and learnings. Our deep knowing is the gift we can offer now\, to a world so desperate for the creative and life-affirming energy of the Feminine. Drawing from decades of global experience and her work with Warriors for the Human Spirit\, with her characteristic honesty and grounded insight\, she invites us to consider what becomes possible when we claim our wisdom as elders\, and lead with devotion to the human spirit. \nAbout Margaret (Meg) Wheatley\, Ed.D. \nMargaret (Meg) Wheatley began caring about the world’s peoples in 1966\, as a Peace Corps volunteer in post-war Korea. In many different roles–speaker\, teacher\, consultant\, advisor\, formal leader—she acts from the unshakable conviction that leaders must learn how to invoke people’s inherent generosity\, creativity and need for community. As this world tears us apart\, sane leadership on behalf of the human spirit is the only way forward. Since 1973\, Meg has taught\, consulted\, and advised an unusually broad variety of organizations on all continents (except Antarctica). Her clients and audiences range from the head of the U.S. Army to twelve-year-old Girl Scouts\, from CEOs and government ministers to small town ministers\, from large universities to rural aboriginal villages. She has served as full-time graduate management faculty at two universities\, and been a formal advisor for leadership programs in England\, Croatia\, Denmark\, Australia and the U.S. Through Berkana\, she has advised leadership initiatives in India\, Senegal\, Brazil\, Zimbabwe\, South Africa\, Mexico\, Greece\, Canada and Europe. \nMeg received her doctorate in Organizational Behavior from Harvard University\, her Masters in Media Ecology with Neil Postman from N.Y.U. \, and her Bachelor’s from the University of Rochester (with a year’s study at University College London). She has been honored for her ground-breaking work by many professional associations\, universities\, and organizations. \nShe has authored thirteen books\, from the classic Leadership and the New Science (1992\, 1n 21 languages) to Who Do We Choose To Be: Facing Reality\, Claiming Leadership\, Restoring Sanity (2017\, 2023) and Restoring Sanity: Practices to Awaken Generosity\, Creativity\, and Kindness in Ourselves and Our Organizations (2024). Her most creative work (2020 with Jerry Granelli) is an audio and book\, The Warrior’s Songline\, a Journey into Warriorship Guided by Voice And Sound. \nSince 2015\, she has been training leaders and activists from more than 35 countries as Warriors for the Human Spirit\, an in-depth training program and path of service supported by a robust global community. \nThis session is part of the Menopause Chronicles membership and requires a subscription\, which can be canceled anytime. \nWorld time Buddy can help with zone conversion.

SUMMARY:Making Meaning of Menopause with Kimberly Bady
DESCRIPTION:Curiosity at the Threshold: The Stories That Help Us Make Meaning of Menopause\nSession Description\nWhat might change if we approached menopause with curiosity? When Kimberly Bady entered perimenopause\, she found herself asking questions that extended far beyond symptoms: What is this season asking of me? How have women in other cultures experienced this passage? Where are the elders\, stories\, and rituals to help us make meaning of the change? \nThose questions led Kimberly into conversations with women and elders\, explorations of aging and menopause across cultures\, and the work of West African teacher Sobonfu Somé of the Dagara people. Through Somé’s teachings about ritual\, initiation\, community\, and elderhood\, Kimberly began to understand menopause not only as a biological transition\, but also as a threshold into a different way of knowing and becoming. \nWeaving personal stories with cultural wisdom and reflection\, Kimberly will explore how curiosity can help us question inherited beliefs about menopause and aging\, listen more deeply to our own experiences\, and discover the wisdom already taking shape within us. Participants will be invited to consider the stories they have been given about growing older—and the stories they now want to live\, embody\, and pass forward. \nKimberly Bady\nKimberly Bady is a storyteller\, menopause mentor\, certified integrative nutrition health coach\, yoga and breathwork teacher\, author\, and TEDx speaker. She is the founder of Liberated Womanhood\, a community devoted to honoring the seasons and stages of a woman’s life as powerful rites of passage. \nAs a former women’s ministry director\, Kimberly spent years helping girls prepare for and celebrate their passage into womanhood. Yet when she entered perimenopause herself\, she discovered that women were rarely offered the same preparation\, stories\, rituals\, or community as they crossed into the wisdom years. \nCuriosity became Kimberly’s guide. Her own journey inspired her to ask deeper questions about menopause\, aging\, elderhood\, and how women and cultures around the world make meaning of life’s great transitions. Through storytelling\, conversations with women and elders\, holistic wellness practices\, and the study of rites of passage and traditional wisdom\, she began to understand menopause as more than a biological change—it could also be a profound threshold of becoming. \nToday\, Kimberly helps women approach menopause with greater curiosity\, self-compassion\, and reverence. Her work invites women to question inherited beliefs about aging\, listen to the wisdom of their bodies\, reclaim their voices\, and recognize the stories they are now being called to live and pass forward. \nTo join us\, join the Menopause Chronicles global community: \nOver the course of the mind-bending\, shape-shifting transition into and beyond menopause\, arguably the deepest system of the body–the endocrine system–massively rearranges. There is simply no way this doesn’t shift the way we feel\, think\, and perceive reality. It is an extraordinary\, awe-inspiring\, sometimes horrifying transition….even if you do everything\, “right”. \nIn this twice-monthly\, live\, online (Zoom) membership-based fellowship\, Dr. Welch\, friends\, colleagues and participants share experiences and perspectives around this monumental experience\, in deep\, sometimes funny\, far-ranging conversations. We welcome you to join us. A subscription is required to participate. You can join anytime and cancel your subscription whenever you like. \nClick here for more information\, schedule\, and registration. \nYou can use World Time Buddy to help with time zone conversions
