A truly delicious midsummer evening, a face-to-face meeting with two absolutely extraordinary women whose life’s work combines traditional medicine, ancient herbal wisdom, well-being, and the holistic meaning of health.
Internationally known and beloved 𝑫𝒓. 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒂 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒉 (Ayurveda) and queen of Western herbalism 𝑹𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑮𝒍𝒂𝒅𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓 represent different views on life, but they face exactly the same questions in their work. How to listen to nature? How to understand the effects of plants, not just chemically, but experientially? How does a relationship with plants really affect healing, daily practices, and life in general?
The focus of the dialogue, open to the public, is:
🌿 Western herbalism and its development
🌿 Use and protection of medicinal plants in today’s world
🌿 how to create and deepen a living relationship with plants
🌿 how Ayurveda addresses the relationship between humans and plants
🌿 Western versus Eastern (Ayurvedic) approach to herbal medicine
🌿 Free-form question round.
🌸 Rosemary Gladstar – often called 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒈𝒐𝒅𝒎𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒊𝒍𝒃𝒍𝒂𝒛𝒆𝒓 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒐𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝑾𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒎, is an author, teacher and lifelong plant lover. Her love for the natural world began in early childhood, where her grandmother taught her how to gather wild plants for food and healing. It was through foraging that she recognized her calling – to heal, to teach, and to listen deeply to the wisdom of the green world.
Rosemary’s teachings invite us to restore our innate connection with living nature, to learn the language of our own bodies and hearts and to see plants as sources of wisdom and compassion. Her approach is both practical and accessible, welcoming beginners and experienced herbalists alike.
She is the author of 11 books and the founder of 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕 𝑺𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔, an organization dedicated to the protection and sustainable use of native medicinal plants. She is also a beloved presence at international gatherings such as the International Herb Symposium and the New England Women’s Herbal Conference. Through her work, Rosemary has helped cultivate a global community rooted in respect, reciprocity and love for the plant kingdom.
🌸 𝑫𝒓. 𝑪𝒍𝒂𝒖𝒅𝒊𝒂 𝑾𝒆𝒍𝒄𝒉 is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine, a beloved women’s health teacher, and a lifelong student of Eastern traditions and medicine, including Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Her way of translating this timeless wisdom into modern life is extremely simple and practical. She is also one of the few Western doctors who has long practiced the principles of both systems and created a clear and practical bridge between them.
Claudia is the author of Balance Your Hormones, Balance Your Life: Achieving Optimal Health and Wellness Through Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine and Western Science and The Four Qualities of Effective Physicians: Practical Ayurvedic Wisdom for Modern Physicians . She is also one of the founders of the Satsangam.net project, which delves into the deeper principles of life that underlie ancient knowledge systems. Claudia’s international lectures on oriental medicine provide insightful perspectives on women’s health in a contemporary context.
