I used to harbor a bit of disdain for online courses, doubting that they could really provide a living, creative experience. I no longer doubt this. I have experienced that online courses may not only provide serious, in-depth education, but may also—depending on the course structure and purpose—foster meaningful connections in a global community. And there are further benefits, which include:
- They allow us all to learn together, in our own homes— in our pajamas if we like—on a schedule that works for each of us, incorporated into a routine that fosters our mental and physical health. And this is important. Dinacaryā (daily routine) is an important component of healthy living. It is often sacrificed in order to attend in-person learning programs that require disruption to our lives, relocation to climates ill-suited to our constitutions, and extensive travel.
- They are significantly more cost effective than traveling to in-person programs.
- They do not require us to consume fossil fuel to get to our classes.
- Our families lives and routines are not disrupted in order for us to pursue our education.
We hope you enjoy these courses, wherever you are on your pilgrimage towards better well-being.
Thank you for being here.
in Love,
