In this Sept 2, 2026 Menopause Chronicles session, Dr. Welch & participants welcome guest instructor Becky Keller—a pelvic health physical therapist and Low Pressure Fitness educator—will introduce how hypopressives, a myofascial, diaphragm‑based approach, can support pelvic floor health through perimenopause and menopause. She will begin with a clear, practical overview of the what, why, and how of Low Pressure Fitness (LPF) hypopressives: what they are, why they matter for issues like leakage, prolapse, pain, and constipation, and how they work through breathing, pressure management, and posture.
Becky will then guide the group through the “HYPO breathing”, the “vacuum” maneuver, and their integration into a few foundational postural poses, so you can directly experience the basics of the method with key principles to apply in daily life. Along the way, she’ll briefly touch on related ideas such as the abdominal vacuum, Low Pressure Fitness, and their relationship to traditional practices like uddiyana bandha. This is an introductory, educational session designed to give you a grounded understanding plus a handful of practical tools you can start to weave into daily life.
