In the first session of 2025, Dr. Welch is THRILLED that her dear friend Rosemary Gladstar is scheduled to join us for the first monthly session of Menopause Chronicles. Rosemary shares:
“As Margaret Mead so aptly said, ‘There is no more creative force in the world than the menopausal woman with Zest”. But its hard to feel zesty when one is experiencing raging hot flashes, erratic mood swings, a lack of energy, and/or depression ~ all considered ‘symptoms’ of menopause though, perhaps, are just as much symptoms of unhealthy aging. How do we create an easier journey through Menopause into the creative croneship that awaits us? In this lively discussion, Rosemary will share her own journey through menopause and what it feels like to be on the ‘other side’. She’ll also share important herbs and herbal remedies that directly support the hormonal changes occurring at this time in our life cycles. Learn about well known herbs that help regulate hot flashes (aka power surges), lift depression and help restore and revitalize the endocrine gland system so that we feel more energized and our creative juices are singing again.”
Rosemary Gladstar has been practicing, living, learning, teaching and writing about herbs for over 50 years. She is the author of twelve books including Medicinal Herbs; a Beginners Guide, Herbal Healing for Women, Gladstar Herbal Recipes for Vibrant Well Being and Herbal Healing for Men. She is also the author and director of the popular home study course, The Science and Art of Herbalism. Rosemary is the co-founder and former director of The International Herb Symposium and The New England Women’s Herbal Conference, founder of The California School of Herbal Studies, Founding President of United Plant Savers, and the co-founder and original formulator of Traditional Medicinal Tea Company. In 2018 Rosemary was awarded an Honorary Doctorate for her life work from the National University of Naturopathic Medicine. She recently moved from her home at Sage Mountain ~ an Herbal Retreat Center and Botanical Sanctuary where she has lived, taught and worked for the past 30 years ~ to a smaller haven where she plans to plant a small garden, dream more, do less, and spend more time with the plants. www.scienceandartofherbalism.com

Over the course of the mind-bending, shape-shifting transition into and beyond menopause, arguably the deepest system of the body–the endocrine system–massively rearranges. There is simply no way this doesn’t shift the way we feel, think, and perceive reality. It is an extraordinary, awe-inspiring, sometimes horrifying transition….even if you do everything, “right”.
In this twice-monthly, live, online (Zoom) membership-based fellowship, Dr. Welch, friends, colleagues and participants share experiences and perspectives around this monumental experience, in deep, sometimes funny, far-ranging conversations. We welcome you to join us.
